MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Utah Funeral Director Association is to provide valuable resources and innovative opportunities for our funeral service professionals by:  facilitating professional networking and relationships, offering progressive learning opportunities, and being the voice for positive legislative and public advocacy.

 

VALUE STATEMENT

The officers, directors, and employees of the Utah Funeral Directors Association will base all decisions and actions according to the following set of core values:              Honesty & Integrity--Is it truthful, sincere, morally upright, and/or straight forward?  Accountability--Can it be clearly communicated and justified to the membership?  Trust & Confidence--Does it engender a firm belief in the reliability, truthfulness, and ability of the Association?                                                                                      Mutual Respect & Fairness--Have the rights, feelings, and unique needs of the Association's diverse membership been considered?                                                 Knowledge, Wisdom & Experience--Does it increase understanding and awareness of the issues important to the Association's members?

 

STRATEGIC VISION

 After discussion with the membership and in accordance with the UFDA Mission and Value Statements, the officers and directors will concentrate on the following strategic initiatives:  1)  Provide more innovative continuing education opportunities, 2) Be more proficient in communicating and disseminating information (website, e-mail, newsletters, etc.),  3) Continue to visit mortuaries and listen to the needs of the membership, 4) Lead the way in strengthening funeral service laws, providing public advocacy, and fostering relationships with legislators/regulators, 5) Offer value-added business partnerships that provide clear member benefits and potential residual income to the Association.
