Berg Mortuary is currently seeking an Apprentice Funeral Director. This is a great opportunity to grow your career, with training and advancement. The position covers many different day-to-day tasks (assisting with funerals, embalming, removals, etc.), but with a focus on care of the families and meeting their needs. Must meet requirements to be a licensed as an apprentice in the state of Utah.
Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record.
Works on-call /first-call, as needed.
Attend and perform work in a professional and courteous manner in accordance with the employer’s requirements.
While gaining on the job experience under the direction of a licensed Funeral Director, participates in preparation of the deceased: dressing and casketing.
Assist with placing caskets in visitation area, adjust light fixtures, and arrangement of flowers or plants.
Take part in directing and ushering families and service attendees to and from the location of the funeral service.
Assist in the transportation of client families to ensure a timely departure and arrival.
Identify and remedy all hazards on grounds.
Other duties as assigned.

We have a few positions open for a Funeral Home Manager, a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer or an apprentice/intern wanting to become fully licensed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer. Applicants would need to meet the requirements of the State of Montana or North Dakota to be licensed as Funeral Director/embalmer or an apprentice/intern.
Our Funeral Homes are all “state of the art” beautiful locations. While other Funeral Homes have struggled in the past few years our organization has grown dramatically. We feel this is due to our primary goal of always doing whatever it takes to meet the needs of the families we deal with. We have worked hard to have a great reputation in the communities we serve. The positions open are in our eastern Montana and North Dakota funeral homes. At these locations we average 250-275 calls a year in one and about 120 in the other.
